Authority publishing · for experts who already get paid for what they know

The calling card nobody throws away.

We turn your expertise into a published, distributed book, in your own voice, with your name on the cover. And we measure it by what it brings you, not by how many copies it sells.

Author Assessment45 minutes with an editor. No cost.
  • 86 titles published, in Spanish
  • Since 2011 on Amazon and Ingram
  • Dreams Magnet imprint · New York, 2010
  • Service in English and Spanish

It’s Thursday. You finish an $8,000 proposal and send it, knowing the client will compare it with two others. Nothing in those twelve pages says why you.

You have fourteen years of cases and not one page that puts them in order. Three years ago someone told you, «You should write a book.» They were right. You still don’t have the time.

A business card is gone within a week. A book with your name on it stays on the desk of the person who received it. It gets lent, quoted, and it opens the next meeting with «I read your book.» It’s the credential a competitor can’t copy in a week.

A different book for each line of work.

The method and the price are the same. What changes is what the book has to get you.

What we are is easier to see in what we’re not.

  • We’re not a traditional publisher: we don’t buy rights or pay advances. The rights are yours.
  • We’re not a printer or a self-publishing package: we don’t leave you alone with fifty copies in a box.
  • We’re not an agency: we don’t sell websites or campaigns. We sell editorial judgment.
  • Nobody writes what you didn’t say: your voice is the source, and a named editor puts it in order.

Three author packages. Three closed prices.

Each package is a complete service. The name says what you are when it’s done. We take four authors a month.

Voice to Book. Six stages, one source.

  1. Assessment. A 45-minute conversation. We tell you whether there’s a book that will work.
  2. Voice. Ten recorded, transcribed interviews. Everything in the book comes from here.
  3. Architecture. Thesis, reader, chapter-by-chapter outline. You approve it before a line is written.
  4. Manuscript. The editor writes on top of your words. You review every chapter, twice.
  5. Publication. Final proofing, design, ISBN, Amazon and the Ingram network, in your accounts.
  6. Work. A plan for the book to bring you stages, media and clients. And a call at six months.

If you record your interviews in November and approve each chapter on time, your book can be on Amazon in February.

Your voice, a named editor.

The source of your book is your recorded interviews. Nothing goes into the manuscript that you didn’t say or approve. Every book has a responsible editor who signs the copyright page, and you meet that editor before you start.

We use artificial intelligence to move faster: it transcribes, organizes, proposes. We don’t use it to speak for you: no idea goes into the book unless you said it, and we disclose it where disclosure is required.

Who will read you.

Daniel Mendoza founded the Dreams Magnet imprint in New York in 2010, and since 2011 it has published 86 Spanish-language titles by professionals on Amazon and Ingram. Today he runs DASHING: he leads every Author Assessment, approves the architecture of every book, and edits every English-language book himself. You meet him before your first interview.

About us

We don’t promise you’ll be a bestseller. Most likely you’ll sell a few copies, and that’s fine: we didn’t make the book for that. We made it to get to the meeting before you do, to get you invited to the stage you’re asking for today, and so your next proposal isn’t compared with two others.

At six months we ask what happened. And we write it down, with your permission, next to your name.

We publish our prices before the first call, and what we don’t do. If after reading this you decide it’s not for you, we did our job.

We’ll tell you if there’s a book. And if there isn’t.
